Briar Bush is a genuine gem: a wooded nature preserve tucked into the middle of suburban Abington, and one of our favorite spots for younger children. Its Nature Playscape is built from natural materials like balancing logs, tree stumps, and boulders, a refreshing change from standard playground equipment that invites open-ended, imaginative play.

Beyond the playscape, there's over a mile of easy mulched woodland trails, a pond, a bird observatory, and a small nature museum with live animals and a play area for little ones.

The trails and playscape are free and open daily, dawn to dusk. The museum keeps its own hours and charges a small admission for non-residents, so check its current schedule if that's part of your plan.
